Birthing the mother

"The most difficult part of birth is...afterwards...when the soul of a woman must birth the mother inside her. The emotional labor pains of becoming a mother are far greater than the physical pangs of birth; these are the growing surges of your heart as it pushes out selfishness and fear and makes room for sacrifice and love. It is a private and silent birth of the soul, but it is no less holy then the event of childbirth, perhaps it is even more sacred." Joy Kusek LCCE

First of all sorry for the lack of words in the last weeks month. I am still adjusting to the new situation, trying to move on slowly into our new life with two kids. It seems like a huge project to me. I seriously have no idea how I would ever manage to take care of more then two kids although I absolutly admire big families. I guess my strength are just limited.
Don't get me wrong, we are mainly having a good time here, Aaron is the best big brother I could wish for and Maya likes sleeping at night. It is just the adjusting that takes time. Especially transportation, shopping and the like is complicated without a car. But, we are getting there:

And tomorrow we are off for our first big trip up to Denmark. Can you hear the bells

The Milky Way

Did you know according to Greek mythology the Milky Way arose from breast milk. The divine hero Heracles was born to Zeus and Alcmene. Alcmene was a mortal human so Zeus gave Heracles to his other wife Hera to feed him with goddess milk to make him immortal. But baby Heracles bit Hera into her nipple so she let go and her milk poured down the sky and formed the Milky Way.

The picture is painted by Peter Paul Ruben.
